Big week for words....

Since my last post, Mia has picked up several new words! She loves to run through the house yelling "Jojo" or as it comes out "Dodo." She is saying "diaper," "apple," "bubble," "no," and "paper." She also loves to put things in the trash can. After I change her diaper she'll go put it away in the trash for me. She is also getting really good at following directions. Now I just need to teach her how to load the dishwasher......

What's new...

It's been a little while since I've posted. Here is what's going on with Miss Mia....

• She can point to her nose, mouth, ear, eye, and head when you ask here where they are
• She can say "banana" or it comes out at "manana"
• When playing peek-a-boo she says "pop-eye"
• She loves to hide and wait for us to call her....she then comes running to give you a big hug - then she hides again in the same place over and over and over....
• She still loves the Wiggles - I think I now know all of the words to all of their songs
• She LOVES the water fountain at the mall - or as she refers to it "waaa"
• The girl LOVES being outside!!!
• Her new favorite food is the mini-ravioli's from Chef Boyardee

These are just a few of the things I can remember right off, although there are plenty more. She is such a sweet and loving little girl. She loves to cuddle, kiss, and hug. Hmmm....just writing this is making me miss her.....

Redbone for my birthday...

Saturday night mama and daddy came over and took us all to Redbone for my birthday. Aunt Emily and Uncle Brian joined us. Unfortunately, the play area was closed due to a leak, but Mia seemed to have a good time anyway. She ate her steamed veggies, bread, and helped me out with my sundae. We then headed to my house for presents and cake. I got lots of neat goodies and things I needed!

At 16 months Mia is doing lots of new things! She does the hand motions to the Itsy Bitsy Spider. She can point to her nose, mouth and eyes when you ask her where they are. Her favorite thing to say is "Oh, wow!" She tries to say the numbers when you count from 1 to 5 to her. And she still loves to shake her booty when music is on! She has taken a liking to Barney - thanks to daycare.

Eating w/a fork

Mia LOVES suppertime! She insists on using her fork. She actually gets food in her mouth with it about 75% of the time!

Wine Tasting

This weekend we headed to the beach. Saturday we went to a wine tasting at a vineyard. None of us had ever done that before. It was so much fun! Mia even behaved for us! After the wine tasting, me and mama headed to Shallotte for a little shopping and then we all went to eat at the Boundary House in Calabash. Mia was a little angel. She had broccoli, snow peas, and a roll for dinner and vanilla ice cream with caramel for dessert.

She is now trying to cookie which comes out "ookie." She is also calling me mama consistently. She continues to shake her bootie whenever she hears The Wiggles or Barney. What a fun age!!!
