Coming home...

A weekend at the beach just poops Mia out! However, it makes for a peaceful ride home for mama!

Mia can now say all of the kids names in her class at big girl school and all of her teachers. She has really had a vocabulary explosion over the last week. It's so cute to seeing her communication skills develop!

Weekend at the beach...

Ryan had to work this weekend, so me and Mia headed to the beach with mimi and papa. Mia has been a little tempermental lately with several molars coming in at once, but as long as she was near water she was fine!

Chuck E. Cheese

Mia's first trip to Chuck E. Cheese. She had a blast!

Pics from Father's Day

There aren't many since Mia was feeling a little under the weather, but she did perk up for 15 minutes to help open presents!

Father's Day and Ryan's 30th Birthday

What a busy weekend we had! Friday Ryan turned 30 - finally! Mama came over and kept Mia so that we could go out to dinner. On Saturday, daddy, Emily, and Brian came over to cook out for Ryan's b'day and Father's Day. Then on Sunday we headed down to Orangeburg to celebrate Ryan's b'day and Father's Day with his family. Mia was a sweetie all weekend and helped open everyone's presents. She was running a little fever on Sat. and Sunday, but she was a trooper! Ryan had a great 2nd Father's Day! Mia adores her "D" and is definitely a "daddy's girl!"

Tantrum...

As I've mentioned before, Mia is going through her tantrum stage where the smallest thing may set her off. I thought I would capture one of these priceless moments on camera!

Playing in the water...

Yesterday sure was hot, so we cooled Miss Mia off by filling up her baby pool. She LOVED splashing around and running in and out of the water!

Lazy weekend

We had a nice, lazy weekend. Friday night some friends came over for a few drinks. Saturday we went to a fundraiser at Honda to see Aunt Emily. We had fun and Mia danced for everyone. I think she gets her moves from her mama! :-) Then we went over to see Chas and Baby Madelyn. Ahh....nothing like holding a newborn! I can't believe my Mia was once that small!

Happy 19 Months!

You're such a smart, fun, and beautiful little girl! You have the best laugh and the most loveable kisses! We're so lucky to be your parents! We love you!

More of Mia

She doesn't like the sand on her feet!

She loves the rides at Walmart!

Fishing

Memorial Day weekend

We took a mini-vacation and headed to the beach the Friday morning before Memorial Day. We stayed until Tuesday. It was nice having an extra-long weekend. On Friday, the guys golfed and the girls went down to the beach. Mia had a large time playing in the sand and standing in the ocean. On Saturday, we went to a community pool party and cook-out. The weather was beautiful and Mia LOVED the swimming pool. She didn't want to wear her swimmies though. She just wanted to hold on to someone. We decided to head back to the house to change Mia after her "pa-poo". Then we all headed out to the beach. Mia was busy keeping up with everyone and digging in the sand. After a few hours on the beach, we went home to grill steaks and burgers. Yummy! Sunday morning Emily and Brian went back home and me, daddy, and Ryan went fishing while Mimi kept Mia. We had a great time fishing. We caught several fish, but daddy caught the only keeper. Sunday night, Ryan and I headed down to Little River for a dinner date at Crab Catchers. It was a beautiful night. We ate out on the deck overlooking the inlet and listened to the band and watched the casino boat take off for it's night outing. Monday we hung around the house and rested. Pa-Pa and Ryan went crabbing for the first time and came back w/6 crabs! They cooked them and fried some fish. We found out Mia really likes fried flounder. We came back Tuesday afternoon, well-rested and ready to face the rest of the work week.

While at the beach, Mia learned made some vocabulary progress. She addresses my mom and dad as Mimi and Pa-Pa consistenly. She calls Emily "linly." She loves to go "outshide" and play in the "wa-er". She tells you when she has "pa-poo" in her diaper. If you tell her you love her, she blows you kisses "mu-ah". She points at Madelyn and says "baby". She kisses, pats the bottom and loves on her baby doll. She plays like a big girl with her tea set. Now, if we could just get rid of the tantrums....
