At the beach with mimi and papa

Mia went to the beach with mimi, papa, Aunt Em and Uncle Brian this past weekend so that Ryan and I could paint the living room. They bravely took her out to eat Friday night. While they were waiting to be seated, they walked over to a shrimp boat that had just docked. The captain let her touch a flounder, shark, eel, and I think a couple of other fish that I can't remember. He also gave her a bag of sandollars. Mimi is washing and bleaching them for her. On Saturday they all went swimming and Ryan and I came up after we finished with the living room. He did a really good job by the way! I couldn't be without her for two nights, so we spent the night and came back on Sunday.
Emily is starting to get a little bump! Doesn't she look cute in her maternity clothes? We find out what she is having in 1 1/2 weeks! We can't wait!

The weekend...

We spent this weekend at home. On Friday night we went to Shane's Rib Shack to eat. YUMMY! Mia behaved fairly well. She really enjoyed the ribs and baked beans! Saturday night Chasity, Trey and Madelyn came over to grill out with us. Mia enjoyed showing off for them by dancing, singing, and running around the house as fast as she could. Madelyn was a doll. Holding a little baby almost makes me want another one!!!! Emily and Brian also came over to bring Mia her Mickey Mouse ears they got her in Disney World. Mia loves wearing them! Sunday we took it easy and relaxed and napped! Here are some pics from the weekend....

Mia's first watermelon...

Can you tell how much Mia loved eating and making a mess of the watermelon????

On the beach with Mimi and Grandma

Wow! Look at the size of those!
Papa reeling one in....
We caught several sharks....

4th of July

We celebrated the 4th of July at the beach. We went down on Wed. morning and came back Sunday. Ryan's parents joined us Thursday night. I think they enjoyed the trip until Grandpa had a little accident on the off-shore fishing trip. We hate they had to cut their trip short, but we certainly understand. Mia had a big time playing on the beach, swimming at the pool, and visiting the ice cream parlor.

Papa and Grandpa took us off-shore fishing on Saturday. We caught king mackerel and little sharks. It was fun. I would love to go again sometime.

Mia turned 20 months on the 4th of July. "No" now seems to be her favorite word! She talks and sings all of the time. She still loves to dance - even to my cell phone when it's ringing. She repeats a lot of what we say and she is starting to put 2 and 3 words together. However, at this time she has no interest in the potty and continues to have tantrums when things don't go her way. She goes to time-out from time to time and even gets her hand popped every now and then. She does love to help clean up and help me around the house. Sometimes she makes more of a mess than actual helping, but I just let her go with it...

I know I'm biased, but she is growing into such a pretty and charming little girl! She has the best laugh, the best hugs, the best kisses and I just melt when she says "I ov u" for "I love you."

Aunt Emily is now 13 weeks. Her and Brian just got back from a week at Disney World. She is still a little tired, but seems to be feeling better. Mia can't wait to have a little cousin!

Lynches River

We had a nice, lazy weekend. Friday night, mama came back through Florence on her way home from Ware Shoals to keep Mia so we could go see Ocean's 13. It was really good! Saturday we got some things done around the house and Sunday we napped and went to Lynches River for a picnic. Mia had a great time playing on the jungle gym and walking down by the river. She has been so much fun to be around lately! She is saying "I love u", tiger, giraffe, monkey, turtle, lion, what's that?, more, ect. She also has been sleeping all night since last Saturday. For those of you who don't know, Mia has never been a great sleeper, so this is monumental! I don't want to say to much, because I know with all of the teeth she has coming in right now that it could change any moment, but Ryan and I are definitely loving all of the sleep we are getting!

Mia will be 20 months on Wednesday. We will be at the beach for the rest of the week, so I wanted to go ahead and mention this milestone. Happy 20 months, Mia! We love you so much!
***Notice in the first picture that Mia applied her own make-up!
